The Gardens at Versailles

    The main group, still without me, took a day trip to Versailles. Later that evening a few kids wanted to go up the Eiffel Tower, and had an adventure when they found they were too late to catch the Metro back to their hotel. So taxis for everybody, and an anxiety filled ride for Mrs. Martin! However, I have no pictures for their day.

    My own day was spent hiking the streets of Paris, with a side trip to the embassy for help finding the group. They suggested I call Ohio. Anyway, the morning trail led to the Opera district for expensive cappucino,

  

   ..then back to the Louvre to meet the group on their scheduled visit. But of course, the Louvre is closed on Tuesdays, silly American tourist! So, no group, no Louvre for me.

  But I did get some hiking in! Down through the Tuileries gardens to the Champs Elysee, up the hill almost to Montmartres,

  ... finishing with an evening hike along the Isles past Notre Dame. Stopped for the day in front of City Hall (Le Hotel) and watched the World Cup with the crowd. And finally, around midnight, I get a call from Roy. So one day, at least, in Paris with the group.
