The view from the top of the Baths.

Our second day of cruising featured the British Virgin Islands, the least developed islands we saw. We started a little slowly, somehow it was the middle of the morning before we made it off the ship. Luckily the ferry schedules were wrong, so we weren't rushed. We left Tortola for Virgin Gorda and the rocks of the Baths.
Note the 350 yards.

After a strenuous hike down a rocky trail the happy snorkeler is greeted with crystal clear waters framed by huge granite rocks and the yacht crowd.
Disneyland couldn't create a more picturesque spot than the Baths. Larger version

Coral grows along the sides of the rocks in the water, teeming with iridescent fish.
The Baths also have a colorful Beach Bar, this one with local cats. Larger version

The hot white sand is like powder, and there's a nice fringe of shade-providing scrub trees along the beach edge.
This shot doesn't quite show the natural beauty as hoped.

Though we had some problems with material possessions, this spot was a highlight of the trip. Let's see that big rock again.
The single seagull on the peak of the rock was a lucky and unintended shot. Larger version

Another towel creation.

By this time I was really looking forward to the huge evening meals with enthusiasm.
This night Del, my fine steward, produced a creation using my new sunglasses.
